Frequently Asked Questions

These are the most commonly asked questions about Star Home Health Care.
What is home health care?

Home health care delivers skilled medical services right in your home. This includes nursing, therapy, and social work to support your recovery, manage chronic conditions, and help you stay independent.

It is designed to provide the care you need to heal safely, maintain your health, and live confidently at home.

Who qualifies for Home Health Services?

You may be eligible for home health care if:

  • You’re covered by Medicare Part A and/or Part B.

  • You’re currently under the care of a licensed healthcare provider, such as a doctor, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or surgeon.

  • You require skilled care, such as nursing services or physical, occupational, or speech therapy.

  • You’re considered homebound — meaning it takes considerable effort or assistance for you to leave your home.

Medicare typically covers 100% of approved home health care services.

What insurance do you accept?

We currently accept Traditional (Original) Medicare — Part A and/or Part B only.
At this time, we do not accept private insurance, Medicare Advantage plans, or Medicaid.

What services do you provide?

Our home health services include:

  • Skilled Nursing

  • Physical Therapy

  • Speech Therapy

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Medical Social Worker

  • Certified Nursing Assistant

How do I start receiving services?

You’ll need an order or referral from an authorized healthcare provider, such as a doctor, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or surgeon.

After we receive your referral and confirm your Medicare eligibility, we’ll reach out to schedule your in-home assessment.

What does “homebound” mean?

Being homebound means it takes significant effort or assistance to leave your home due to a health condition.

You can still go out occasionally for medical visits, religious services, or brief outings and remain eligible for home health care.

Will Medicare cover the cost of services?

Yes, if you meet Medicare’s eligibility requirements, it covers 100% of approved home health services.

You won’t have any out-of-pocket costs for covered care, though non-covered services may have separate fees.

How often will someone visit my home?

Visit frequency depends on your individual needs and the care plan set by your healthcare provider.

Our team creates a schedule tailored to support your recovery and overall well-being.

Do you provide 24-hour or live-in care?

No, home health services are short-term and provided intermittently — not for 24-hour or long-term custodial care.

Medicare does not cover live-in or continuous home care.

Can my family or caregiver be involved?

Absolutely! We welcome family and caregiver involvement and provide guidance and training to help support your care plan and independence.
